Obviously there are online companies like Boca Java that sell fresh coffee beans. Is there a place in Baton Rouge where you can buy your own freshly roasted beans, to grind yourself?

didn't know they did that. if so, i'll have to pay a visit.

not to venture off subject too badly, but i really dislike their new venue. i hated the fact that they got rid of that old shopping center for a wal-mart among other things. they took away a chunk of my childhood when they demolished it. my all-time favorite candy store was there... of course, this would have been more of a throwback.

Some stores let that crap sit in those bins for a long time. I would think fresh roasted might mean something roasted in the last few weeks or so.

Misreading seems to be a habit of yours.

Whole spices and such stay fresh for a long time. It won't make much of a difference. Trust me on this.

Seems like most people who have had freshly roasted coffee swear by it. Over 90% of what you buy at the supermarket is stale, but drinkable.

Well the stuff at Fresh Market is pretty good. I'm not sure just how fresh it is but they have some good stuff. There was one in particular that I really enjoyed that Colonel recommended but I can't remember the name of it to save my life.

If there is a PJ's coffee around you they have the beans in 1 lb bags. Different flavors to if you like that.
