re: GOP to ask for Secret Ballots to hide impeachment vote from voters

The written reason for impeachment trial is to remove a government official from office. Trump is no longer holding an office, so he cannot be removed. This impeachment trial is insulting political theatrics intended to distract US citizens from all the nefarious atrocious acts that the DNC is going to be doing over the next several months.
