re: Skunk in a fox foothold trap. Any advice for removal?

Update: it was frozen yesterday so I pulled up the stakes, scooped up the skunk and trap with a large snow shovel and dumped onto my burn pile. Will light the bonfire this weekend and hope that the Christmas tree out smells the skunk. I also was able to save the trap and not touch the skunk. I’ll check that trap later for smells and set another trap for the fox. There is always a possibility that I’ll be in this position again. We have a boatload of skunks up here.
