The average US soldier in World War II, upon entrance into boot camp, was 26 years old, 5’ 8”, and weighed 144 pounds. This was what the average American adult male looked like before sedentary lifestyle, fast food, processed sugars and video games
I was 220 when I made the changes (260 at one point) and thought I just needed to lose a "few" lbs.

At the end of 2016 I was up to about 220lbs at 5'9". I knew I was fat but I didn't know how fat until I lost it all. I look back at my before/afters and can only laugh. It was gross.

Exact same. Started paying attention to what I ate (avoided sugar), cooked every meal, switched to liquor instead of beer and hit the gym 5x a week. By the end of that year I was down to 160lbs and more cut than I was in high school. Now it's just maintenance and that's easy now that I know what I'm doing.
