They are coming for those 401k’s. The peasants can’t be allowed to accumulate too much.

As stupid as taxing unrealized gains are, this shouldn't affect 401k's, whose gains are tax exempt. Even the realized gains in a 401k are not taxable until withdrawn. This is something that would affect non-qualified investment accounts.
