It's all a bunch of marketing to me. I've owned trucks for almost 30 years and never thought that we needed massive improvements to a tailgate. Locking with the doors is the most useful feature I've seen.

Oh absolutely, I have heard it referred to as "the tailgate wars" when I was researching truck stuff when I was buying
. Idk seems like more parts to break and I have had buddies that have ripped the tailgate thing out when pulling stuff out of the bed (on accident) because the top trim part doesn't sit flush with the rest of the top of the tailgate and apparently its a pain in the arse to fix.
