In a since-deleted post captured by ProPublica, Khanna noted that raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour is expected to lift 1 million people out of poverty

How idiots think this won’t just raise prices across the supply chain is unfathomable. Do these people not understand how this works?

It’s like moving to San Francisco with a Lake Charles salary and going...I’m good at 75K. I can eat. Minimum wage is not a one fits all solution.

They also don't understand that the major companies that currently employ a lot of minimum wage workers (i.e. McDonalds, Walmart, etc) will simply automate more and stop employing these workers at all. Hell, most Walmarts already have more self checkout lanes than they do cashier lanes. McDonalds in some areas have self-order/self-pay kiosks. Pretty sure it was Seattle who actually saw unemployment rise directly tied to their raising the mandatory minimum wage.

Because we have a bunch of dummies leading us. That $7.50 combo meal you currently enjoy will be at least $11.00 if food chains will be forced to pay $15/hr. Likewise, everything else will also follow suit with price increases. Then, I will have to go to my employer too and request an increase in salary. When the entire country does the same with following the same logic, in four or five years we'll be right back to where we stand today. They will cry that $15 isn't enough anymore and we need to make it $20/hr. It will be a never ending cycle.
