I can't speak to the Ferris, but I have a Scag with the suspension seat. If the yard is rough I would definitely recommend suspension seat on whatever brand you buy.
And my Scag has been great for the 3 seasons I've had it. Cut 3 acre yard weekly and 2 acres around the cow barn bi-weekly.
