There is no reason to rush. If they have done their due diligence and believe the guy they want is still coaching then you wait it out and get that guy. That’s what they did with Freeman. He was their top guy they waited for them to play their bowl game then they interviewed. He said no so now you go to number two and wait if you need to.

They didn’t get that guy.
You can’t let one guy string you along. You can only wait if you have a contract done in private already.

I disagree. You identify your best 4 or 5 candidates and you negotiate simultaneously to give you leverage in the negotiation. Out of 4 or 5, you may rule one out but you will still likely have 3 or 4 great candidates. Some may decline, so you add another to the list.
If LSU is truly negotiating the way you say they are, they are setting themselves up to get left at the altar and resorting to hiring Raymond.
We've seen that before with other hires. If that happens, they'll then say Raymond was part of the process all the time and redefine again what it means to hire the "best coordinators."
It's possible LSU is negotiating with several people simultaneously but it doesn't seem like that given O's recent statements.
