You’re a liar. Everybody does it. You just happen to agree with this restaurant/store/whatever it is in this instance.

Nope. Theres tons of places i dont agree with their politics and i still shop there. But then again, i dont let politics rule my life.

So let's say you need a widget. Store A sells widgets and has no "offensive to you" material in their shop. Store B has the same widget but has "offensive to you" material and says they don't need your business.

You really picking Store B?

Your premise seems to be it takes effort to avoid places that go out of their way to pander only to a certain crowd. It takes no effort in 2021 IMo.

I would agree that it is a miserable existence if you go out of your way to see which businesses lean which way and make all your decision that way, because that would be exhausting and miserable. And also unsustainable as a conservative in an urban area

Well, some people actually have beliefs they feel strongly about. Now most people don't care what other's politics are. I don't care if you believe something differently than me. We aren't all the same and that's fine. However, what most people don't care for is some asshat openly pushing his beliefs on others, and being confrontational about it. When that happens, people like me will simply write that person off and avoid their establishments. As others said, it's a rather dumb thing to do, is to push your beliefs if you are in the service industry, especially in N.O., where thousands of restaurants are competing for customers. Well, if i have so many options, why would i patronize a place that states, "if you don't like my politics, i don't need your business"? He's right, he won't have mine, or others business.

Just like that asshat over at courtyard, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
