We want to buy some art to remember the trip. Any recommendations on locations to go where there may be several options to choose from?

Royal Street in the Quarter, Julia St in the Warehouse District, and Magazine St Uptown.

Anything else we should try to see that is open?

City Park is open and has quite a bit to do.
If you like outside drinking and the weather is nice, Wrong Iron, Bayou Beer/Wine Garden, Tchopyard, Bulldog Mid-City are all pretty cool places.

As for the food, post over on the food and drink board to get more responses on that.

We went between Christmas and New Year's and the place was empty for the day and this was two days before Sugar Bowl playoff game.

A lot of the restaurants have weird hours so you might want to check. Several restaurants are closed on Mon and Tues. Mask wearing is pretty much everywhere but I never felt all that crowded anywhere we went.

The WWII Museum is open now but they are limiting visitors so I would check their website for more info.
