And I still have and treasure that pirpgue. Meet your dad on here but in person at the auction. I haven't posted much on here in awhile, but the OB is still my TD home.
I need to get back on. Probably more now than ever. By chance, I just used your dad's pirogue from the auction for what end up being my last duck hunt with my own father. Just over 2 weeks ago, we killed a couple limits of mallards at out little local honeypot here in Smackover. That pirogue has been might handy in that swampy paradise. Just 2 days later, both my dad and I were diagnosed with COVID. Both being healthcare providers, we were exposed daily and knew the risk. Fortunately, I kicked it's arse in a couple days with some HCQ/zinc, marlboro reds, jameson's, and mf'ing Swiss Miss hot chocolate. My father however had worsened to the point that not even intubation was helping and he is on an ECMO device to circulate blood and oxygen to his body while bypassing his lungs. He coded just before the procedure, but survived. His prognosis is grim, but not zero. I'll treasure that hunt, your dad's friendship (as well as others on this board), and that pirogue and what it represents forever.

Keep my dad in y'alls prayers. It's in the Lord's hand now and he has helped me with this even before it occurred. My path and mind is clear, my soul is at peace and I know for a fact I was able to help my dad make full peace with the Lord while he still could. Although I want him to beat this, I'm prepared for the fact that he probably won't and at peace. Anything else is lagniappe.
