He does remind me of Joe with his pocket presence and ability to scramble for the first down. He made several very slick moves to avoid sacks the past 2 games. At risk of sounding cliche, he has "tremendous poise", something that TJ lacks.
Whether or not he will remind me of Joe in other ways remains to be seen. But what he did in the last 2 games as a true frosh is extremely impressive, regardless of context.

I agree he has poise. I disagree that TJ lacked it. In fact, TJ looked cool as a cucumber out there.
What you guys need to realize is that both TJ and Max looked damn good when they had a decent running game. Twice the running game was completely taken away from TJ, and he looked bad. We never saw Max without the running game support.
