2 Players opt out last game of year for Ole Miss. Let’s not get it twisted. Opting out prior to start of year for covid, draft status in a unpredictable year, or injury’s understandable.

Opting out mid year or later without an injury or real reason is only one thing. LSU included.

YOU QUIT. I hope the pro teams drafting these players take that into consideration. Character is a huge factor for long term success of these players given their all talented.

Thoughts?

Good point. Hate to say it but we did give up 700 yards to Florida

My guess is Moore probably would have opted out a while back, but he felt compelled to get through the Egg Bowl to redeem himself from last year

Quitters quit. These guys don’t love the game or their teammates. Since recruiting is so focused on combine skills, kids that live to play and play hard often find few opportunities. It’s just the way it is now.

It’s easy to say when you’re talking about someone else’s money.

Wrong. Opt out last game of year? You quit. It’s not about $. It’s about character

We're also talking about the school's money. They were given an education, world-class training and preparation for a lucrative NFL career, and housing. All of these are extremely valuable to the school. I am not saying that football players (and other college athletes) shouldn't bet other compensation, but they agreed to play with the requirements as they are today. To quit before meeting their commitment is a violation of that.

Opting out is something that is done at the beginning of the year for this year only. after the season starts this is just simply quitting

LSU isn’t too worried about money, they signed Bo for 2.3 million, after all.

That is another stupid move on the school's part. Two stupids don't make a smart.

I’m not going to question their character for a decision they think improves their career. They put in 3, 4, even 5 years of commitment. They have people advising them, as well. It would be nice to have a bunch of Devin White’s around campus, I agree. But again their situation isn’t mine.

It's not about character; it's a question of financial obligation. They received something quite valuable with the expectation that they play. They took ALL of what they were promised and didn't deliver what they promised.
