exactly....Farve was Hallman's claim to fame....
and frankly, we were a doormat at the time...LSU was not seen as an ideal job in coaching circles....there was not a lot of financial support for the football team, so the option to just buy a coach really didn't exist either...

i disagree with that. we were hardly a doormat. we were a good football team that underachieved under archer.
now, once curley got there, we DID turn into a doormat for a few years.
