Return Of The Killer Tomatoes did it first in the mid-80s.
They “ran out of money” partway through the film, broke the fourth wall, then started doing blatant product placement to get the film finished, like hocking Heineken.
The sequence is actually fairly inventive, and the bit with the Mobil horse is certainly a memorable image.

Which just goes to show you... there really isn’t anything original in Hollywood.
