3 is harmless enough. At least it looks like a real movie.
If I am not mistaken 4 was an attempt at a backdoor TV pilot that failed.

We bought the full Home Alone DVD box set a few years ago mainly for the first two (canon) movies. My son insisted we watch HA4, and it's absolutely bananas, especially since it contains characters from the original.
Peter leaves Kate and the kids for some rich woman who has a baller house. Kevin comes to stay with them and destroys the place repeatedly. Marv is played by French Stewart and tries to kidnap a member of the royal family who is supposed to stay there or something. Kevin foils the plot and Peter reconciles with Kate and they're suddenly one big happy family again.
It's insane and one of the worst movies (made for TV or otherwise) ever made.
