He hasn’t been hurt the last 2 seasons so I think the narrative on Armstead is a little misleading. He’s also signed through next year too so the Saints have a bargaining chip if they want to use it. If they feel like he’s got another 3-4 years they could negotiate an extension this offseason that would add 2-3 years his current deal and that would bring his $16 mil cap hit for next year down while also giving Armstead some added security by knowing he’s locked in for another few years without the risk of getting hurt next year. I don’t think the Saints have any plans to move on from a top 5 LT. Elite OL are hard to find and when you have 2 of them at offensive tackle you don’t mess with that.

He was out for a couple games last year with an high ankle sprain then banged up his wrist in the playoffs. All in all it was a healthier year for him though. He missed several games every year prior to last year. I’m not opposed to signing him though but can see us letting him walk especially if Brees retires which he probably will

Huh? He’s missed multiple games each year due to injury. He only played 7 games in 2016, 10 in 2017 & 2018 and 15 games last year, and that includes playoffs. And he missed this last game with Covid.

I like Armstead and he’s a great player and seems like a good guy. But he misses several games and goes out a lot because of injuries.
