The timing does make it look worse. I personally think O and Marshall discussed this "opting out" in season as something they would look at as things progressed. Marshall would've been a 1st round pick even if he would've opted out before the season IMO. Now that his value is set at the next level, he decided to pull the trigger.

W all need to adjust to the understanding that college football will never be the same.

Then it will end entirely as we know it. The fans are not going to be as rabid or emotionally/financially invested whenever players are skipping full seasons and quitting mid-year when the team sucks.

This trend will just continue to drive a wedge between the fans and college players.

He had first round talent sure but he needed a season to show what he could do. He was overshadowed last year because he got hurt and chase and Jefferson were awesome. He needed this season to get his draft stock up and as soon as he did he quit.
