I remember not having money for the Ice Cream man. The old older kids in the neighborhood purchased me one, but with one catch. I had to get it out of this huge mud puddle they tossed it in.

I blame that for my dislike of people in general.

Man, hearing the ice cream truck was a wonderful thing as a kid. We'd scour the neighborhood looking for him on our bikes.

I lived on Maplewood behind Earl K Long Charity Hospital in the early sixties. Mr Hill was the ice cream man. I was around 2 1/2 yrs old and had an account that my mother paid weekly. I was fascinated by the change machine he had on his belt.
