Concept stolen from u/28-3_lol on Reddit r/cfb:

So if the Ohio State vs Indiana game is cancelled next week due to COVID, Indiana would essentially control their own destiny to win the divison and a B1G title appearance, even if Ohio State is undefeated.

Tiebreaker #1: Head to Head, theoretically they don't play

Tiebreaker #2: Win percentage, both would be theoretically tied at .1000

Tiebreaker #3: Crossover opponent records, Ohio State's crossovers are 0-5(Nebraska, Illinois) while Indiana's are 3-0(Purdue, Wisconsin)

Welcome to 2020.

How many games does OSU have to play to be eligible for Big 10 championship game?

We’ll be lucky if this season finishes.

Sounds like the Hoosiers need to hit the Bloomington bars this weekend

6.

So with already 1 cancelled, we can afford to miss only one more.

There is this “out” if more B1G games get canceled:
quote:

Big Ten requires 6 games to be considered for the Big Ten Championship, unless the average number of conference games played falls below 6. Then you must play no less than two fewer games than the average (i.e. 4 games if the average is 6). Right now, the average is 7.5

Would it matter? If OSU plays 6 games and wins them they will go over a conference champ Indians likely this season. But an 8-0 conference champ Indians may go too?

So weird

If Indiana takes the spot over Ohio State because of opponent winning percentage/record my buddies will loose their shite!
