The salsa at T&BE is made fresh. In fact, everything there is made from scratch, the only thing that comes from a container are the Jalapenos (I pointed this out right off the bat in my review thread). Next time you go to Izzo's, ask the manager on duty where they buy their jalapenos from.

Given the choice, I much prefer fresh jalepenos to pickled. Izzo's gives you that choice.

You're the only person on this forum to actually say they were disappointed with Taco and Burrito Express. Looking back at your other post, it seems like you're an incredibly finicky eater in the first place.

Maybe I was disappointed because so many people here built it up for me and I was holding it to a high standard. I'm willing to try it again, but it's not really in a convenient place for me, so I doubt I'll make a special trip over there.

Seems like you would have left full had you gotten a burrito as it comes. Those guys aren't going to throw in a massive amount of chicken and a cup of sour cream just because you 86 the beans and rice.

I order my burrito the same way at Izzo's (no rice or beans) and I can't say I've ever left hungry. But I'm also able to tell them to put some more pico or cheese or sour cream while they make it, so that could be a reason.

I will say this, though. I've known Ozzie since he opened Izzo's 7 years ago. He has always been very responsive to me, and he values my opinions. If I ever have a problem, I can call or e-mail him and he's quick to respond to make things right. I've had discussions with him about various aspects of their menu items and he's explained his philosophy to me. He will not compromise freshness for speed. That's one of the reasons he hasn't added shrimp to the menu full time (only during Lent). He's told me he can't find a way to keep shrimp from getting rubbery from sitting around and he won't serve it that way. He also asked me to try a couple of their new tortillas when they were forced to change suppliers.

So, yes, I'm biased towards Izzo's, because of that. And that probably clouds my judgement of other places. So, take my review with a grain of salt. But, I stand by what I said in the review. I'm not a huge fan of shreadded chicken (personal preference) and I like the contents to be mixed up prior to rolling the burrito so that you don't get a big bite of lettuce with no chicken on one half and vice versa for the other half.

Again, I'll probably try T&BE again. The salsa was delicious and the price is definitely right. It's just not located in a convenient place for me. I'd like to try their steak and pork items. Maybe I'll be more impressed.
