I've never seen so much love for a third string RB.

what exactly is so damn important about naming a #1 RB?

it just seems to create dissension among the rb corp itself...do it like we have the past 4-6 years...let the hot hand get the bulk of the carries....

are we trying to create a heisman canidate or something here?

no no....I wasnt really responding to your post alone...there have been a few articles out the last week or so seeming to stress the importance of having that one go-to guy at rB and I just dont understand the logic behind that...

unless these guys start transferring out or something, lets stick with what has worked for us lately is all....

all I mean by the heisman comment is are we more concerned about having that 1 guy put up all the stats as opposed to sticking with our recent track record of rb by committee...

why try to fix something that isnt broke...?

Last year we didn't have a rbbc.

LSU ran the ball 612 times for 3,377 yards. Hester ran the ball 225 times for 1118 yards. He had roughly 1/3 of the carries and 1/3 of the yards. 2/3 of the carries/yards came from the other 4 running backs. That would constitute a RBBC by any stretch of the imagination.

612 rushes for the team.Minus the qb's rushes it's 456.Therefore-
Hester 225 carries
other besides QB- 231. This wasn't rbbc by far.
eta- williams-scott-murphy only had 150 carries combined.

So exactly how many guys have to carry the ball in your opinion to be considered a RBBC?

Williams, Trindon, Scott, and Murphy had 203 carries.

Hester was the main back. Hester had 225 carries, williams, scott, murphy, & holliday had 203 carries combined. 1 man getting the majority of carries is not rbbc.

Gotcha...Unless running backs get EXACTLY the same amount of carries, it's not RBBC. Duly noted. BTW...NO ONE IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL HAS HAD A RBBC. Welcome to the rant. I've gotta go to bed on this one.
