Patriots had 8 guys opt out, most by far of any team

Same feeling as LSU as far as leading in most/key guys opting out. It is an absolute killer as far as motivation etc behind the franchise/program (and obviously you miss the players productivity as well)

The point is even one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time is struggling after having by far the most opt outs. It creates a culture and attitude that this year doesn’t mean anything. That’s hard to overcome

You cant compare NFL to college football though. In the NFL the teams are much closer to equal talent levels across the board. There really is no such thing as an inexcusable loss in the NFL. Mississippi state and Missouri are inexcusable losses for lsu
