So everybody is to blame BUT Finley! TJ completed 13 of 24 attempts, had 2 interceptions (one a pick 6) gave up a fumble recovery for another Auburn TD and a QBR of 20.5. Max was 15 of 24 for 172 yards 1 TD and no interceptions and a QB rating of 34.3. If Brennan is not ready for Alabama, Max has earned the start

I didn't say everyone BUT Finley was to blame, but I'm not the least bit surprised that on this board full of children, that someone would jump to such a dumb conclusion. He made his mistakes. But he also had ZERO help. ZERO. No one was open, no one could catch, and no one could block. What hope was there for Finley?

As for Max, everything he did was in garbage time. Only the newest of newbie football fans don't know how to discern garbage time stats from other stats. And that's not a knock on Max. He did would he could on short notice. But there is no way to glean anything from garbage time stats.

Finley made two mistakes. Unfortunately, they were both very costly. The second pick was tipped at the line into the air. That's not a "mistake", it's a fluke play. The team absolutely quit after the fumble return. It wouldn't have mattered who was in the game.

Brennan was always going to be the starter when he's healthy again. But do I think Finley is a lesser QB? No. I think he's a freshman who went out there with confidence, took a couple lumps for the first time, and saw his team collapse. Joe Burrow had some awful moments his first year here, as well. But this board was just all too eager to point and laugh at Finley and anyone who spoke highly of him. It's pathetic.

OHHHHHH ok. So when Brennan faces the same problems it doesn’t matter, because all I heard was how a QB “makes the oline better”, “he throws a more catchable ball”. Apparently when Myles faces the same thing and puts up huge numbers it’s irrelevant.

I love how people don’t want to rewatch all the missed throws too. He had WIDE OPEN receivers who he just missed completely; he had guys drop passes bc he threw it 100mph behind them. It’s not just one bad throw. But y’all can’t come on here after claiming some BS like “the threat of TJ running the ball is what opens up the run game” and then turn around and blame the oline.

There might be a small percentage who fit the first category but for the people “defending” him, eat this crow. 90% of those “defending” him were just attacking Brennan for exactly what TJ just went through.

Don’t even mention Burrow and TJ in the same sentence. There are no comparisons, TJ will never have Joes mental aspects of the game, never. Brennan’s either for that matter. Next up?
