My wife has these. I had actually been eyeing them for a while myself. She uses them most days and likes them. I borrow them when I can. The sound isn't as good as some of the above average headphones, but its definitely not bad. I really like them personally. Biggest issue is that the battery doesn't last as long as regular earbuds, but its not that much worse. I enjoy the whole unobstructed ear and hearing the outside world part, but honestly my favorite thing about them is listening to stereo music. It can be kind of trippy the way your brain interprets hearing the audio. If you've got some songs that really split tracks between left/right the effect is more pronounced than regular headphones.
As for your concern about noise, unless you've got them near max vol, no one can hear them.
