I like modern technology. I just need to see a need for the tech offered for sale before I buy it. Dont need a super duper fridge that is tied into my phone and will rate mu diet based on a scan of what food I put in fridge.

Yeah I don't see the point of the screens and superfluous shite, but one bit of tech that I do want to see in appliances is more self-monitoring (temps, noise, vibration, efficiency, etc). It would be great to have a "like-new" baseline, and then be notified when something is out of spec. Even if it still works, I'd like to get some sort of early warning rather than wait until total failure.
