re: Why is Venables not a HC?

I’ve seen recent interviews where he has reiterated he wants to be a HC. He wanted his kids to get through HS and not pack up and move. As others said above, he wanted the “right job.” He also said in interview last year he knows his window is now closing. With both kids in college now, he will either finish at Clemson and leave in next 2-3 years when both graduate or he will go after this season.

If I was one of Clemson’s rivals on the recruiting trail, I would strongly consider hiring him. Maybe he works out as your HC. But at a minimum, you know Clemson’s program will finally start it’s decline. Especially after Dabo has to replace their OC after this year, who is also expected to take a HC job soon as wel.
