Money is only really an issue if you're a club who can attract good free agents. Titles are won on the back of top tier talent. Draft a guy and you control him for 7 years.

Its just spending wisely, which every good team should do. There should be a purpose behind it. If we believe someone like Wiseman is a future starter at Center and will be great, then I'd be all for the move. But drafting top 3, then paying someone 10M a year to be a project and a back up is reckless. I'd rather draft in the 10-25 range and pay the players under 4M a year..
That why I'd love to shake loose a couple of picks from someone like Boston that has a bunch of late 1sts and wants to dump them..
