My state pays probably well into the hundreds of millions or more of dollars a year in billboards, TV ads, magazine spots, radio cuts, etc about opiates

I dont think I have gone more than a few days without hearing or seeing a public service announcement about them.

So they never talk about the opioid/opiate/heroin epidemic and the overdoses that come from IV drug use? Those poor drug addicts who OD are ignorant to the facts.

It has only been a staple of the news cycle since the 80's. But yeah, you're right. They don't talk about it. There hasn't been tens of 1,000's of news stories, interviews, documentaries, news specials, etc. mentioned about it.
