I was 5. Living my best life. Got an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen for my birthday. Had my first McDonald's burger. Just moved from the paradise of Natchez, Mississippi to Lafayette. Poor as hell but mom hadn't hit the healthy food trend yet so we ate mashed potatoes, corn, and hamburger steak often.
