It’s been a while since my husband drove trucks but the problem with the company he worked for was the drug and alcohol tests. He was always clean, so he took on a lot of extra driving. But that got old quick.
I’m sure with the pandemic, people are drinking and using more drugs - so perhaps there’s a driver shortage.
Interesting article on Business Insider about how plenty of truckers left in 2019 bc of the lack of manufacturing - but now there’s a surge in deliveries bc of online shopping - I can’t link it for some reason
