Is the demand for drivers that high right now?

I looked into trucking a few years back.

Pay is decent for a skill they are willing to pay you to learn, but just not quite high enough.

Have to be away from family, training takes you to a random location depending on the company, usually have to be with the same company for half a year before you can have a rider, some companies want you to stay with the same company for a year after training.

Not all of those things are deal breakers themselves, but they are for a median salary of 40k.

If you need your shite hauled across country, sleeping in the cab, with limited meal options, I'll do it. That is, if you let me bring my wife and dog immediately and up your pay to at least $70,000. If that's unrealistic, so be it. But as long as I have other options that's the deal.
