I fell off when I tried to watch it a couple months ago after season 2 or 3 because everything I read was about how bad the ending was
I guess if this gets good reviews I’ll go back and watch everything

Maybe it’s just me, but by season 5, Dexter shows too many human emotions and cares too much.
And it just goes on from there.
It seems like they got too far from the premise that he’s a sociopath with no human emotions.
ETA: My theory is Michael C Hall got too much creative control as the series went on and he’s a typical Hollywood emotional pussy and pulled the show in that direction.
It became less of a character study (with ridiculous plot points of course) and more of let’s corner the main character and see how he gets out of this jam.
And it just goes on from there.
