Anyone else think that he can be every bit as good as D. Bowe this year? After seeing him over the second half of last season, I think that he might be one of the best we've had.

It's kind of hard to compare D Byrd to Bowe, 2 different playing styles, but he definitley has 1st round potential

Will depend on the mindset of LaFell and the development of Toliver. Byrd is awesome, don't get me wrong, but I think he's most dangerous when he's not "the" guy.

I agree they play totally different, but Bowe was the last receiver we had who was really dominant on the field. And, I felt like comparisons to J.Reed/.M. Clayton weren't any better.

So, do you think that we won't have "the guy" this year?

He will be good, but like it or not Early was running interference for him at times last year even though he was not full speed. I hope he is a solid number 1 but we will see.

BOWE made it look so easy...everything from bolocking to catching.

A better comparison would be Lafell/Bowe...if Lafell can get his mind right

I don't believe that there is any "the guy" out there. The Tigers have potential All Americans at three receiving spots, and there will be absolute terror for the defense when any of our backs catch a pass with room to maneuver!

If defenses focus on Byrd, they will be hurt by LaFell or Dickson. If they play "cover-2", they had better be very good tacklers!!

I do believe that Byrd is a truly great receiver, and he should go in the first round of the NFL draft.

IMHO I think Byrd is a better pure receiver than Bowe (which hurts me to say because I'm one of the biggest Bowe fans out here) However, I think Byrd struggles a little this season just for the fact that we have unproven QB play and we will rely heavily on the running game this year.

IMO, I think Lafell is a more complete WR so will he will be our #1 guy. Byrd is good at what he is: being a deep threat.

And if hes going to be the #1 guy he needs to learn more of the playbook.

Its hard to make that comparrison because Bowe, Clayton, and Reed have all been more of Possession recievers. Byrd is more of a speed guy then anything else. He is a different brand of receiver then we have seen in a long time. I compare him to a better version of Devery Henderson.

That being said, I think him and Lafell are both first round talents, but IMO Tolliver will end up being the best of the bunch.

No. I think (hope) that LaFell, Byrd and Toliver will be an awesome trio and that no team will be able to double Byrd.

Someone else said they believed Doucet really enabled Byrd--I agree. I hope that LaFell and Toliver can equally enable Byrd.

Byrd one on one on a slant is deadly.

Now that we have two young stud WRs--one Toliver and one Tolliver, it is very important for ranters to know how to spell.

Explanation please. I think Bowe is a potential NFL HOF. No joke. He is extremely powerful, and he has amazing control of his body.
