So if a coach could bring you an nba championship but he was 70 you wouldn’t take him? I’m not sure I understand. Could clarify the point you are trying to make?? The way I understand you is some of these guys had to gain experience and not win for a while before they win a championship. Which be an argument for hiring former head coaches of other teams. Could you name me 21 championships won by rookie head coaches? Pretty sure it’s like nick nurse and maybe bill russel and that’s it.. could be wrong though

What I’m getting at though is we aren’t competing for championships for at least another 3 years. He’ll be 73 years old. Oldest coach to win a championship was 65. I hate to invest years into Zion on a geriatric that’s probably gonna retire before we even start to achieve anything (if we even do). And we’re talking about a head coach that’s never won a championship ever..


I’m not completely against hiring him. I just think he’s a short sighted hire with a win now mentality in a conference thats absolutely loaded that will also more than likely have us looking for another coach in 3 years
