2020 NFL Season - Should have tested 2 bye weeks

With now 3 games in jeopardy, hindsight said this would have been a nice time to try 2 bye weeks or at least have contingencies.

One thought was, have week 6 and 12 as bye weeks for every team.

Assuming you cannot keep a bubble, this was bound to happen. If so, that means those teams can just take an early (in this case week 4) bye and play on week 6. And if a team was positive in say week 8, they can play on week 12.

More $$$ for TV deal and opens the way for adding game 17 and adding a 2nd bye

Why would the NFL choose to have 2 Sundays in the fall with no games? That makes no sense.

They wouldn't. They'd be choosing to have 2 extra Sundays in the fall with games. More TV revenue and easy fixes to the predictably jacked up schedule. It makes perfect sense if you have any semblance of intelligence. Which is why it's not happening in the NFL.
