Final update for a while. Had an MRI done on Saturday for my right shoulder, orthopedic doctor visit today. The MRI + X-ray show what he suspected, calcific tendonitis. It's not big and didn't show signs of a year in the tendon, and no decrease in arm strength. No PT referral, no cortisone shot. The plan now is to follow up in a year or so to see if the calcific deposit grows. He said eventually I'll need to have surgery but hopefully before a tear occurs.

I'm happy it's not anything serious but also bummed that the pain will just exist until the calcific deposit is removed.
