So all the players who aren't true freshman/transfers who've spent all their previous years practicing and learning zone defense under Dave Aranda, who was known as The Professor and made his living doing more with less - they all the sudden don't know how to play the most basic fricking zone schemes? bullshite.
When players are getting picked and rubbed on man beater after man beater simple slants and crossing routes, and the coach can't determine zone might give this group of personnel a fighting chance against an offense that for 20+ years has had the least success against zone, you shouldn't be getting paid millions. Period.
It's one thing to believe you have the plan and personnel to get adequate pressure and play nothing but man because you think you have superior athletes, but when it becomes evident on that particular night you are fricking wrong, you better have a plan B.
It wasn't necessary to play 100% zone, but hell, to let the same 3 plays eat your arse all night because you refuse to stop playing man is insanity.
