People are Still claiming a no knock after the AG blew that up today.
Pundits on TV right now are claiming the police and the BF exchanged gunfire through a door. WRONG
People have placated to the emotional crap for 6 months. Today facts started being released and it's as if no one wants to change their emotionally charged stance.

So you're totally just going to ignore my post that tells you the Mayor, LMPD, and other local officials stood behind it being a No-Knock Warrant until today when the AG announced that it wasn't?
But that brings up another issue. If it wasn't a No Knock Warrant, that means they should've been in full gear with body cams on by LMPD procedures. That also means that they absolutely had to knock (they did) and announce themselves clearly (questionable).
That actually makes it worse.

But it wasn't a no knock warrant.... They announced themselves, the neighbor HEARD them announce themselves, and made entry into the residence. Then the boyfriend chose to open fire on the officers executing the search warrant, don't forget they didn't fire first. They began firing when they were fired upon.

One of multiple neighbors claim they heard them announce. That's pretty shaky "evidence". Especially when it was the upstairs neighbor and not next door.
And yes, they were fired upon first. Because the boyfriend (Walker) didn't hear them announce themselves and thought it was someone breaking in. Which is why his charges were dropped, he was exercising the Castle Doctrine.
This whole thing fricking stinks.

I know why, but I also find it hard to believe that ESPN has this as one of their lead stories.

The black AG laid it all out. It wasn't a no knock warrant.
I guess my confusion is, the police were only corroborated by 1 other person a civilian. As the reporter asked and pointed out, other people in that apartment complex did not hear the police say anything.
1 person in a full apartment complex when everyone else aid they didnt?
I dont believe they announced themselves. According to Cameron, 2 officers entered and say Walker was pointing a gun at them, then he fired. I highly doubt he'd have done that knowing they were officers. If he was pointing a gun at them, why wasnt a command given to lower the weapon? He didnt know they wee police because they didnt announce themselves

I would also think you could reasonably assume that Taylor and Walker heard them since they were standing in the hallway when they entered and were not in bed.

Yep! Anyone that uses the word “murder” in this is just showing their lack of understanding of our laws.

Was it the type of neighborhood where when it comes to the police no one saw shite?

Are we pretending it isnt possible that they announced themselves and Walker and Taylor didnt hear them?
Both were at the back of the apartment with the TV on and both were yelling at the door trying to figure out who it was.

Because he immediately shot one of them.

I bet criminals live next door and just hate police. What you go to say against that?

Maybe the police did announce themselves. Does that automatically mean Breonna and her boyfriend heard them clearly. Cuz if you're in the house and all of a sudden hear loud banging and someone trying to break your door down. It's not too far-fetched to say that they potentially never clearly heard the police instructions or demands. I guarantee the banging on the door would have been louder than their voices.
Not to mention all of this is going on while they're likely half sleep.

Then why were the charges against Walker dropped if it was "proved" they announced themselves?

I'd say 911 received several calls stating there was shooting going on and to send Police. But of course, who would need to ask for Police if so many neighbors knew they were already there?

Where did this come from? Is that confirmed?

Is everyone here in agreement it was not a “no knock” warrant? Because they announced they were the cops first

Commonwealth's Attorney Tom Wine played partial recordings of police interviews with Walker during a May 22 news conference in which Walker told police that he and Taylor were watching a movie in bed — it was “watching them more than we were watching it,” he said — when they heard a loud bang at the door, scaring both of them.
Walker said he initially thought it might’ve been Taylor's former boyfriend, but there was no response when Taylor twice called out, “Who is it?”
Then, Walker said he grabbed his gun (it was registered to Walker) saying he was, "Scared to death."
Taylor yelled again "at the top of her lungs," asking who it was, Walker said in the recording. He said he was asking, too.
They got out of bed and were going toward the door when it “comes off its hinges.” Walker fired one shot, unable to see who he was shooting at, he told police.

Again, are we pretending that Walker would've 100% heard the police announce themselves?

No. It was changed to one but we all know why.
