I actually addressed that issue in another thread. Honestly, I can't avoid saying that I'm conflicted about that. Obviously the glaring difference is involvement of a lame duck President, but I'm still not settled about it. Not at all. Was there some other precedent to that particular end that they relied upon?

2. Opposing Senate Majority
3. Check & Balances are real
4. Elections have conseqences

No. Turtle had the votes/control to wait the next election out. That’s the difference between a Republican controlled senate and democrat controlled senate.
