Did anybody here defend Mitch's argument that a SCOTUS nominee can't get a hearing in an election year on its merits? Saying eff you we're going to block yours and confirm ours no matter the circumstances is valid if you're up front about it. It sure does open the door for bad outcomes for your side though. If the Dems control both houses and the presidency in 2021, do we care about the rules again?

No senate controlling majority has confirmed an opposite party president's SCOTUS nomination during an election year in like 120 years.
