1996 Oklahoma
They lost to San Diego State, TCU, Tulsa and Kansas to open the season.
They went 3-8 on the season and 2 of those 3 wins came by a combined 7 points.
They had one ranked team on their schedule (Texas) and they shockingly beat them in OT.

They weren’t shockingly bad, just plain bad. They were 11-11-1 over the previous two years and on their third coach in three years. That coach was John Blake...not exactly an A-lister.
