Taxpayers and tourists get raked by these pro team owners.
- funds (municipal taxes) could be WAY better spent
- 6.5% stadium taxes on rental cars from airport (added to city/state/airport taxes)
- hotel taxes (Atlanta charges 31%, and I am NOT exaggerating)

Benefits?? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Georgia Dome was 19 years old when they broke ground on MB Stadium?? NINETEEN YEARS??? frick YOU NFL!!

ETA: Another annoying example, when I lived in Houston, the city charged $20 to park at Astrodome/Reliant, for almost every event. As a taxpayer, I found that to be utter theft, to charge that much for a parking lot that has been in use since ~1964!

Arthur Blank paid for most of MBS and as I showed, in just 2 events the city will have seen their money recouped.

That's really not a good example for your argument.
