In the NFL, they wear their pants like this:



Whereas, on the street, the average miscreant wears his pants like this:



By physics and default, regardless of physical speed and ability, one style of lower body apparel lends itself to lack of impediment of movement, while the other style limits stride and forces the wearer to use one hand to keep the pants from falling down around the ankles.

This is a good point but you are not considering motivation.

I was watching the Indy 500 one year (think it was the one Danny Sullivan won) and a rabbit got on the track.

That rabbit was jumping EIGHT FEET HIGH to try to get out of there. Then a car hit it and it looked like mist.

That is true, right there, never mentioned it on TV.

In this story she may have had an angle or head start or knew where she was going when they didn't etc.
