My roommate has #1 and told me he's taking Saquon, so I'm taking McCaffery. I've been doing mocks on Sleeper, and usually 2 of these 3 come up to me at 19:
Hopkins
Aaron Jones
Austin Ekeler
I'm wondering what y'all think is a better strategy - to take Hopkins there and hope to get a RB in rounds 4 or 5 OR to take one of these RBs and fill up on WRs in the next 3-4 rounds since there are a ton in those rounds?
Also, I'm not ever on this board other than once or twice a year, so what is y'all's opinion on Jonathan Taylor? My roommate told me he's taking him at 40 if he's there, so I'd have to take him at 39 which I'd only do if I didn't already have an RB2 at that point. Is that decent value there or would I be better off letting my roommate take Taylor and go get someone like Devin Singletary at 42?
ETA: None of these 3 dropped to me but Davante Adams did, and I got Kenyan Drake at 22, so still went fairly well.

Personally wouldnt draft Taylor or Singletary in those slots. Its not like Marlon Mack is some scrub he had 1000 yards and 8 TDs last year. Singletary was hardly that impressive and will be splitting time with Zack Moss from most accounts

My instinct is telling me aaron Jones in the second out of those 3. All 3 of those guys carry risk. Hopkins is going to a new team. Packers seem to like AJ Dillion and want to get him involved. Ekeler will probably be on a bad offense with a new team. However, Aaron Jones was a monster last year and still should get a bulk of the carries and has a potent offense.
As for Jonathan Taylor and Devin Singletary, I don’t like either of those guys that early. Like another poster said they are going to have a lot of competition.

If you can pair Eckler with CMC, you do that. The depth at WR is crazy.

Aaron Jones is in the same spot as Singletary and Marlon Mack when it comes to competition. Packers used their 2nd round pick on AJ Dillon.
As for OP's question - I'd probably go Hopkins. Sign me up for an elite WR in an offense predicated on air-raid principles

I agree with Ekeler here. WR is deep, and you can probably get a solid WR on the turn.

True but I think there is a more clear line here. Jones is way more talented then singletary or Mack. I don’t think that Aaron Jones gets completely replaced and green bay is a good offense that can offer a lot of opportunities. However, you are right but all these options carry some risk and I’m not crazy about any of them.
