It's actually Premier League policy that a loanee can't play against his parent club. Most other leagues don't have the same policy; see Martin Odegaard lighting up Real Madrid for Real Sociedad late last season.
Man United benefited late last season when they played Sheffield United in Project Restart and Dean Henderson couldn't play in goal as SUFC was fighting for a European place. Helped us finish 3rd. :)
