does interest continue to accrue?

I have no idea. The only thing I said was what about your escroe. He claims his bank paid his accounts when they were due last month. I am guessing the bank will min make him catch his escroe up after he is out of forbearance. That will be thousands right there. Doesn't seem like much of a benefit when you consider that.

I’m sure they paid his taxes and insurance, but you are correct. They’re getting that money back later on.

Same with the interest that accrued during the forbearance period. That gets tacked on to the end of the loan.

All of that will either be due at maturity as a lump sum (that will continue to accrue interest until it’s paid) or they’ll adjust his monthly payments higher to catch him up.

All you’re technically doing when you put a loan in forbearance is borrowing your payments from your lender. It’s definitely not a gift.
