Great ones of the Home and Garden Board, I have about 14,000 SF of centipede lawn that I’d like to apply pre-emergent to, in the fall/winter, beginning in early October. What is the best Lesco pre-emergent to get from Site One for this? And/or are there any better options out there?

I’ve read some stuff somewhere on the internet on being careful with pre emergents with centipede because they are “root pruners”?

Is that a thing?

It’s true for all grasses. Some pre ems do prevent root growth in weeds. Over application or continual applications can have some effect on grass. It is a situation that you have to weigh the pros and cons. If you always have a ton of weeds then use it. If you have a thick lawn that doesn’t get weeds then don’t. I didn’t use any fall or spring pre em this year. I’ve had no crabgrass, vbw, a small bit of spurge.
