Just had a myrtle removed, was tired of the flower petals dropping on my truck. Figured long term it would probably damage the paint.

for those asking about trees/large bushes for corners of the house...

when I bought my first house there was a pineapple guava planted by the front corners. grow relatively tall (kept them trimmed around 6ft) and get very bushy. produce unique flowers and the fruit is excellent

very easy to maintain and don't need much nurturing at all. I may have watered/fertilized them a handful of times the 5 years I lived there
